Well the garden is doing pretty good now. The beans are getting bigger. Not all of them came up and I have replanted seeds where none had come up and now most of those have come up. We should get a lot of beans this year. Good thing they freeze well.

The carrots are starting to come up, not all of them have sprouted though. And I don't think that they all will.

The spinach is getting bigger now and looking good. I hope it does well as its good to add to salad.

The radish watermelon are getting big now. I think all of them have come up so I guess we will see how they do and how they taste. I have never eaten them so I guess we will find out if they are good or not.

I have been able to pick some radishes. They are quick growers and are doing well. They are pretty tasty.

Balcony plants

Well the plants on the balcony are all doing well. They have grown and look good. The tomato plants are especially tall. I hope they continue to do well.

Seedlings

I am late in posting this but here it is. These are our seeds that have come up so far. Beans, Onion and Radish Watermelon. Radish Watermelon is a plant I haven't tried nor have I eaten. It looked interesting so am giving it a go. I hope it's tasty. The seeds sprouted pretty quickly after they were planted. Not all of the beans sprouted so I will replant the ones that are missing.

Well finally we were able to get some gardening done. It's about time it dried out. There was a lot of thistles as you can see by the thistle pile. Planted beans in the first section. Yes a lot of beans good thing they freeze well. I also planted a bunch of onions today and some spinach. I will be planting some more tomorrow and then hopefully on the coming weekend we get some more weeding and planting done. It's good to finally be able to get some gardening done

Balcony May 2011

Well now we have some plants planted on the balcony. Soon I hope to have strawberries. The flowers now have little green strawberries started. I planted a couple of pepper plants and a stevia plant. These are both new to us so we will see how they do. I am much more behind this year compared to last year but that is mostly due to the rain and partly to do with being pregnant. I am happy to have some plants now started.

Garden 2011


Garden 2010

Well the garden plot this year is a lot less weedy then last year. Unfortanetly its been so rainy this month that the garden is very muddy and I have not yet been able to plant anything in it. When you dig a shovel full of mud the whole left behind fills with water. Hopefully we will get a few sunny days which would help to dry it up a lot. Once it dries up some more then I get the weeding and planting started.

2011 Season

Well its the start of a new season. Hopefully the garden will do better this year.

I started some seeds at home a few weeks ago. Not all of them came up. And I have some mold again on some of them. I think next year I will go a different way for starting seeds.

Tomorrow will be the first day that we can get into the garden. Hopefully there won't be so many weeds this time.

I have started to uncover the strawberries that were on the balcony. They look good.
